Project Summary

Discover how Cikgu Ong Pui Yee and her Green Wira students are transforming their school into a Zero Waste champion! The PESS ECO Resource Centre showcases interactive activities including Resource Library documentation, upcycling concepts and a recycling bin challenge.

Their mission? To upgrade the school’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF) into an accessible hub where the entire community can practice the 5Rs and move towards a Zero Waste School.

Project Objectives

  • Establishing and upgrading the original school Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to provide an easily accessible facility for the school community to practice the Zero Waste 5Rs.
  • Providing training and education to the school community on recyclable material management and the importance of its role in environmental sustainability.

Co-founded in 2016, Zero Waste Malaysia (“ZWM”) registered as a non-profit organisation & NGO in 2018 (PPM-044-10-29032018) under The Registry of Societies of Malaysia.
