#jomrepair is a newly launched community programme that aims to upskill Malaysians with repair skills to reduce waste.
In 2021, Malaysia generated 365 kilotonnes of e-waste — about 11 kg per person, exceeding the Southeast Asian average. Most of this ends up in landfills or is improperly handled causing environmental and health concerns when chemicals leak into our grounds.

HOW IT WORKS
REPAIR & REUSE ECOSYSTEM
The #jomrepair programme aims to train Repair Cadets who are interested to regularly support the community through repair workshops. It currently focuses on repairing of electronic appliances (toasters, rice cookers, ovens, etc.)
Our training programme will focus on equipping beginners with basic electronic repair topics so that anyone is able to join Phase 2 (#jomrepair workshop) and upskill themselves through recognition with our Growth Pathway.

Repair Cadets will get digital certificates after joining at least 1 #jomrepair public workshop and can progress their repair titles by participating/facilitating in more!
