Since the pandemic, corporate gifting has become an essential part of ‘compensating’ for the lack of employee interaction. At times where most teams are working in a hybrid system, this is what many corporates have resulted to; some distribute these ‘care kits’ on a monthly basis.

Think of all the individual packaging waste that goes into each product. Though there’s a lack of local statistics on packaging waste contributed by corporate gifting, we can’t deny that there’s a need to relook at the whole practice of corporate gifting- how we can make wiser decisions that create lower waste solutions.

Kim, the founder of Single Step Zero Waste, has served more than 10 corporates since the end of 2019, providing more than 4,700 corporate gifts without introducing any single-use plastic packaging. That is equivalent to a minimum of 4,700 single-use plastic packaging wastes that managed to be avoided from entering the landfills.
To ensure a circular economy concept, Single Step Zero Waste Store provides after-sale services, collecting unwanted packaging to reuse in their business and allowing employees to return unused packaging boxes as well. Additionally, Single Step makes the most of providing refill and reuse services to make zero waste resources as accessible as possible. The figure below shows a portion of their after-sales services.
