Zero Waste Malaysia was invited to Berlin to participate in the Creative Bureaucracy Festival, 2022, presenting the MY Zero Waste Life Handbook on an international stage!
SELANGOR (13/06/2022) – On the 2nd of June, 2022, Zero Waste Malaysia was invited to Berlin, Germany to participate in the Creative Bureaucracy Festival, showcasing the MY Zero Waste Life- Summarised handbook. The festival brings together various stakeholders from the public sector to showcase projects on an international stage. Co-founder & Director Khor Sue Yee made the trip, alongside Marketing & Communications Executive, Tasha Sabapathy and handbook Lead Designer, Ho Kae Jing.
The Festival celebrates outstanding innovation in the public sector and its contribution to a better and more sustainable world. It brings together innovators and change-makers that fight for the common good to make a difference. Seminars and speaking sessions were hosted throughout the day that came from a variety of themes: accelerating climate action and decolonising international development, rethinking organisational structures and cross-sector relationships, designing for scale, and nurturing responsible leadership.
The handbook presented is an all-inclusive guide to living a sustainable life in Malaysia. Information is told through storytelling techniques with interactive visuals that are suitable for all ages and talks about behaviour change through simple actionable steps that can be done as a community; in line with the festival’s values to showcase contributions leading to a sustainable world. The nomination process began back in January, with a shortlisting where ZWM made it into the top 15 from over 200 nominations across 30 countries! Following this, ZWM made it into the top 3 based on community votes and won the chance to fly to Berlin for the live stage. ZWM is also the only Malaysian team representing Malaysia in this festival that celebrates creative solutions. To watch the presentation, click here.
